Food challenge: only buy produce for 2 weeks

Hi y’all,

Today I want to share with you a little something different. I want to do another food challenge. This one however is not to prove to anyone how cheap food can be or how easy veganism is. This one is to teach myself to just eat what I have. I wanted to cut myself some slack, but I have been letting go a bit too much. I’ve been buying way more food than I needed, and therefore spending way more. My pantry is piling over and I honestly don’t have a clue how I’ve been able to fit so much in my freezer. And there is there is still an online order of food waiting to arrive. And while I sure love having a large pantry, the point of it is so I don’t have to shop as often. The point of not limiting what I eat was to make it easier to eat healthy, not to binge on junk and dishes I haven’t eaten in the past 4+ years. I don’t want to splurge all our money on food now we finally have a decent income again, while we could use it for things that actually make us happy.

Some of the things I want to achieve:

  • Learn to just use what we have
  • Get a healthier relationship with food
  • Not give into cravings so easily
  • Waste less
  • Spend less
  • Eat healthier
  • Make produce the centre of my diet

So the next two weeks, maybe even longer, I will not go to the supermarket (unless I need something like toiletpaper haha), the Asian foodshop, the Turkish supermarket, the health food store or the market, or buy any food online. The only place I can go for food is the produce shop around the corner. Other than that I should rely on my pantry.

What will this look like for you? Starting tomorrow I’ll share with you guys what food I buy and what I eat. So expect a lot of what I eat in a day and produce haul posts. I’ll also share how it’s going and how I’m feeling. Hopefully writing here daily will keep me accountable.

See you tomorrow!
